Counselling with Amanda Lertzman
Registered Clinical Counsellor
Master of Arts, Counselling Psychology,
I have a deep understanding that healing is not linear and that facing challenges, big or small, is part of being human.
Seeking support is a powerful step on the journey toward greater self-exploration, authentic expression, and creating a deeper understanding of what guides our interactions with the world.
Amanda offers online services only,
including Registered Clinical Counselling and Relationship Counselling
Many of us come to therapy feeling frozen, stuck, and as if life is just us passing by. For you, this might look like being unable to quiet your thoughts or a constant need to be productive that still leaves you questioning where you belong and how to slow down. These challenges can often creep into many important aspects of our lives, like relationships and work, and can leave us feeling helpless or unsure of how to break out of these patterns.
If you feel overwhelmed, uncertain about where to begin, or as if you’re losing control of the world around you, I invite you to show up just as you are. Though our first instinct may be to shy away from challenge, finding a way through the hard moments is where we grow the most.
We all experience our own sense of overwhelm and challenge differently, but no matter how this is showing up for you, my hope is to provide a non-judgmental space with warmth and safety. Together we can explore your day-to-day challenges or take a deeper look into what may be holding you back from feeling a sense of wholeness in your life.

My Approach to Counselling
A lot of my clients laugh or feel uncomfortable the first time we talk about the impact of pausing to take a breath, or when I reflect the strengths and resources already within them. Some have moments of questioning whether this process will work at all. I was there once too! All I ask is that you enter this space with an open mind and a willingness to explore that even small moments of silliness or ease might be a part of the switch that changes it all.
I believe that you have the capacity for growth when offered a safe space that welcomes honest self-expression. My work as a counsellor is rooted in a person-centred and trauma-informed lens. This means that sessions will be a unique and shared effort as we gently explore your story. Though at times it can be difficult recognize progress, I will reflect your strength and resilience back to you every step of the way.
I believe that healing comes from learning how to open ourselves up to a path forward. Together we can build a path toward greater awareness and understanding of the emotions and beliefs that drive your behaviour and impact your experience. My hope is that this exploration will leave you with a better grasp of who you are and with greater feelings of confidence, enjoyment, and ease in your life.
A Bit About the Person Behind the Counsellor
When I am not in session, I spend much of my time in the forest, on the ocean, and surrounded by my community on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia.
My values align with somatic awareness and mindfulness, and I believe that building healthy relationships starts by strengthening the one we have with ourselves.
I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) and I am dedicated to a lifetime of ongoing growth and learning.
